Swarm provides a platform for data protection, management, organization and search at massive scale. You no longer need to migrate data into disparate solutions for long-term preservation, delivery and analysis. Consolidate all files on Swarm, find the data you are looking for quickly, and reduce total cost of ownership by continuously evolving hardware and optimizing use of your resources.

Reduces CAPEX and OPEX
Reduces strain on primary storage
Provides 100% business continuity
Enables regulatory compliance
Manages and organizes data at scale
Unifies data silos
Why Caringo Swarm?
90% of the data in the world has been generated in the last 2 years. Enterprises faced with designing storage infrastructure to handle this explosive growth can no longer rely on the scalability and accessibility of legacy file system technology. They need universal access, space efficiency, and highly available, robust architectures with the freedom to upgrade hardware as new technology becomes available.
“Scalability is one of the slickest things about Caringo, one sweet thing they did with the platform is, when you drop a new node in, it builds itself from the ground up. The new node announces itself to the main controller. If you want to add a 72 terabyte or petabyte node you just drop it in.”
Swarm seamlessly integrates with Windows® and NetApp® file servers and has an NFS converter for broad support for file-based applications. With a native HTTP 1.1 based interface, Swarm supports the Amazon S3 API and serves as a foundation for new data services.
Swarm has a unified web console for administrators and end users to track performance trends and reporting and manage and monitor content usage quotas (which are integrated with existing metering APIs). Swarm provides hierarchical data protection policies that can be managed by collections, buckets, etc. so your Storage Admin can set permissions and policies and delegate control and management to BUs or end users.
Booting from bare metal, Swarm includes all operating system and services needed to run on any combination of x86 hardware and disk capacities. It runs everything from RAM, including its distributed dynamic index, leaving up to 95% of hard drive capacity for content.
You can deploy Swarm in private, public or hybrid configurations in single-site or multi-site deployments with built-in feeds for distributed content requirements. Multi-tenancy and metering are built in along with support for enterprise identity management solutions (LDAP, AD, Linux PAM) and token-based authentication supporting the Amazon S3 API.
Optimize the use of your resources based on the value of your information with continuous protection, using replication or erasure coding at a single site or at multiple sites. We focus on fast, proactive recovery so your files will be there when you need them and provide AES-256 encryption at rest. Compliance features like WORM, integrity seals and legal hold come built in.
