Caringo Named to Top 40 Coolest Software-Defined Storage Vendors in CRN Awards

Caringo named to Top 40 Coolest SDS Vendors in CRN's inaugural Storage 100 list of the best, brightest and most innovative storage providers!

CRN 2020 Storage 100

The year was 1999 and I was helping customers prepare for the dreaded Y2K. I had just joined a reseller as an Account Manager and my mentor recommended getting a subscription to CRN. He described CRN as “the best place to get the heartbeat of the industry.” Mind you, this was a time when AOL was the number one internet provider and I had to dial in to get connected to the web. Heck, the Patriots hadn’t even won a Super Bowl yet…

About The Channel Company’s CRN Publication

As I continued my career with other Value Added Resellers (VARs) and System Integrators (SIs), my subscription to CRN followed along with me. I could always count on CRN magazine to provide me the updates on the latest and greatest releases from well-known vendors like Cisco, HP, and IBM, but they also covered emerging technology vendors. It was with great envy that I would see competing providers get honored on their top lists for different categories.

Well 21 years and 40 pounds later, I have the honor of leading the Sales team for a company that has been placed on the Top 40 Coolest Software-Defined Storage Vendors, which is one of the categories in CRN’s inaugural Storage 100 list: the best, brightest, and most innovative providers of storage technology for solution providers.

Why Did Caringo Get Recognized?

While I have no insight into the selection process for the CRN list, I can hypothesize that Caringo was recognized because of its 15-year track record, which makes Caringo Swarm the most proven object storage software in the industry. Swarm has been battle tested in more diverse environments than any other platform and it is counted on by federal governments, leading healthcare providers, Service Providers, High-Performance Computing (HPC) and Media & Entertainment (M&E) organizations. From just a few terabytes to 100’s of petabytes, Swarm delivers an easy-to-manage, always-on platform.

Building Relationships with Our Partners

At Caringo, we strive to maintain a rewarding partner program that includes dedicated engineering and sales support, sales enablement tools, and a lead generation program that drives results. We have strong relationships with our partners, and that spans the gamut from Distributors and Direct Market Resellers (DMRs) to SIs and VARs. In my years working on the other side of the relationship, I learned first hand the difference between a “partner” and a “vendor.” A vendor is simply someone who sells goods and services. A good partner is dedicated to the success of the customer, their own organization, and to the other organizations that contribute to the solution.

Collaborating with Our Partners

We are proud to collaborate with our Partner Network so that more organizations can reap the many benefits of Caringo Swarm Object Storage. With the recent release of our Swarm Server Appliance line and Swarm version 11.1, it’s now easier than ever for organizations to procure and deploy Swarm. In as little as 2 hours, you can have a complete enterprise-class storage platform deployed and ready to support your data storage and access needs.

In addition to working on customer solutions with our Partners, we love to collaborate with them to provide educational webinars and webcasts so you can get to know them and hear their unique perspectives. Here are just a few of the recent events that you can watch on demand:

And make sure to register for episode 5 of Brews & Bytes—Remote Workflows, Big Files & Big Storage…A Big Problem?—where Robert Browne, Founder & VP Global Technology at Signiant, will join host Adrian Herrera, Caringo VP Marketing, and TW Cook, Caringo VP Engineering. You can watch live on May 7 or view the recording afterwards.

The Impact of Customer Support on Product Value

To quote a customer recently, “I can always count on Caringo. When I submit a ticket, I know it will be taken care of. I don’t have to babysit the process like I do with ****.” (The other vendor’s name has been withheld to protect the guilty.) Our VARs, SIs and customers love that when there is a problem, they are able to reach a highly skilled engineer focused on addressing their problem, instead of getting passed off from one support group to another, often stuck between different tiers of support teams.
