Messaging Architects, a Caringo OEM partner, has embedded CAStor content storage software in M+Guardian, a key component of its M+ Email Lifecycle Management platform. The combined products represent a first in delivering a complete and comprehensive software solution for managing the e-mail lifecycle from the time it is sent through archiving for long-term preservation in storage.

It’s estimated that as much as 85% of total e-mail includes attachments and 45% of those are larger than 10MB according to an Osterman Research study. M+Guardian is an enterprise-class email firewall that offers a revolutionary and cost effective method for filtering and storing e-mail attachments. It stores the attachments in CAStor and replaces them with equivalent URLs preventing duplication of content in storage. Employees simply forward attachments as a URL to internal colleagues or even outside the organization.

The solution embeds CAStor software to provide affordable, scalable and secure archiving of attachments in a central, content addressed storage (CAS) repository. It delivers built-in, automatic off-site data replication that further enhances disaster recovery and business continuance plans.
